She cracked ribs for beauty, hustled couture with a handjob, survived addiction, and still walked away with the awards.
In this no-holds-barred episode of Holly Randall Unfiltered, Jade Venus pulls back the curtain on what it really takes to survive and win in the adult industry as a trans performer. From coming out at 12 in small-town Montana to becoming an award-winning powerhouse with over 200 scenes, Jade’s story is equal parts chaos, craft, and hard-earned clarity.
She opens up about growing up too fast, escaping abuse, navigating early transition, plastic surgery, and why OnlyFans became her real safety net. Jade also gets brutally honest about addiction, sobriety, industry politics, trans visibility, on-set horror stories (think chocolate milkshake in the most unenjoyable way possible), and why comfort, not fame is the ultimate flex.
Funny, shocking, and unexpectedly thoughtful, this episode reveals the resilience, strategy, and self-awareness behind one of the industry’s most unforgettable personalities.

The LABR Radio Hour
The Los Angeles Review of Books Radio Hour is a weekly show featuring interviews, readings and discussions about all things literary. Hosted by LARB Editors-at-Large Kate Wolf, Medaya Ocher, and Eric Newman.
Kate Wolf and Eric Newman are joined by the novelist and critic Namwali Serpell to discuss her latest book, On Morrison. Through close readings of Toni Morrison’s many novels, as well as her plays, short stories, and early work as a book editor, Serpell’s book appraises how critics, scholars, and the public received Morrison across her career and beyond. The book rigorously examines Morrison’s writing from a plenitude of contexts and angles, including Black aesthetics, history, literature, race, gender, philosophy, and craft. Though Morrsion has long been considered a titan of American literature, and was the first Black woman to win the Nobel Prize for literature in 1993, On Morrison proves that there is still plenty more to be gleaned from the complexity and achievement of her work. Serpell discusses what makes Morrison a difficult writer, how she is often misread, and why her books speak, as ever, to the present moment.

The Sicario Effect

The Sicario Effect is a new series from Exclave Media. Jhon Jairo Velasquez Vasquez alias “Popeye” was Pablo Escobar’s top lieutenant and The Medellin Cartel’s chief sicario (assassin). He’s publicly admitted to having personally killed 300 people. In 2014, after 23 years in prison, Popeye was released. Rather than lay low and enjoy his new freedom, he took to the internet and became a social media star, “Popeye the Repentant”. And as we discovered, that’s just the beginning. This is a story about crime, drugs, corruption, and a country’s fight to control their narrative about the past, present, and future.
What does the future hold in store for Popeye? With his platform muted, will someone take his place? Or will a different narrative emerge? One thing is for sure in Colombia, the future will be determined by those who control the narrative. www.thesicarioeffect.com
